Sawyer, 80, died May 2 in Oakdale after a lengthy illness. No service will be held by request of the deceased. Interment will be in Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. A native of California, Mr. Sawyer lived in Oakdale for 52 years. He was a retired Municipal Court judge for 17 years in the Oakdale and Waterford judicial districts. He was a member of Stanislaus County Retired Employees Association, Oakdale Masonic Lodge #275 F&AM for 50 years, retired member of the Oakdale volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Oakdale Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Alice Sawyer of Oakdale; two sons, Ron of Oakdale and Larry of Redding; 5 grandchildren. The family prefers remembrances to the American Cancer Society Oakdale Branch, PO Box 20, Oakdale, CA 95361 or to the Lung Association, 1111 W.
