The obituary won't have his parents list unless they were still living when he died or they were prominent and maybe pioneers .....you really need to get details from his death certificate, either with a transription or purchasing the actual certificate. Have you verified his death date through a lookup in the CA death index? I checked the 1910 census index and he is not listed in Stanislaus county that year.....
