Hi Janette, The CA death index actually starts in July 1905....1905-1929 is on film, 1930-1999 is online..... Hills Ferry is the name of the cemetery in Newman and an area in that part of the county which is kind of southwest of Turlock over toward Interstate 5 (Turlock is on 99)..... 1930-39 CADI is on line http://www.vitalsearch-ca.com/gen/ca/_vitals/cadeathm.htm here's a volunteer that can check the Turlock Journal, if it was published the year of his death, when you've verified the death date....
