In early 1870's he and his family (four children) came to Hills Ferry and purchased land and farmed. We have letters telling about their land etc. One son is George Jr. and one listed as L.W. and two girls not named, except they go to school. George Jr. is writing the letter to his Uncle Thomas Harris in Ripon, WI. in 1875. George must be in his late teens or early 20's. Would like to find if there are any family of that surname in the area. He also mentions what is in Hills Ferry, such as hotel, stores etc. If anyone has any input I would like to hear from you.
