    3. I saw this name McGinn and had the daughter (Sarah Jane) in my files. From this obit I learned that she had two daughters married McNamara brothers I only had the married to John McNamara in my files. This family were very prominent in Merced. Tom This is what was in the Merced Express about the death of Mrs. Ann McGinn McGINN, Mrs. Ann Merced Express, February 13, 1904 DIED. McGINN - At her home, La Grange, Stanislaus county, Feb. 9th, 1904, Mrs. Ann McGinn, a native of Ireland, aged 69 years. [The deceased was the mother of Mrs. Patrick and Mrs. John McNamara of Merced.] ----------------------------------------------------------- McGINN, Mrs. Ann Merced Express, February 13, 1904 Mrs. Ann McGinn, a pioneer lady of this State died at her home at La Grange on the 9th instant, at the age of 69 years. The lady came to California in 1857 and settled at French Bar of La Grange as it is now known. She was the mother of Mrs. Patrick and Mrs. John McNamara of Merced. ---------------------------------------------------------- McGINN, Mrs. Ann Merced Express, February 27, 1904 In Memoriam. A dark cloud of sorrow gathered over a happy little home on the bank of the Tuolumne river, opposite the little town of La Grange, on Tuesday, the 9th of February, when the dark angel of death stole silently and suddenly within and took the mother. While loving hands were caring for the almost frantic daughter, like a tired child the mother laid her head upon the breast of an old-time friend and sank into that sleep that knows noble instincts and womanly virtues, loved and honored by all who knew her, old and young. From her door not even a hungry dog was ever turned away. She leaves to mourn her loss four married daughters, Mrs. J. [sic] and Mrs. P. McNamara of Merced, Mrs. J. Kernan of San Francisco and Mrs. J. McNamara of Oakdale, besides an unmarried daughter, Miss Annie, who resided with her. What is home without a mother! What a void their hearts will feel! There can never be another Who can take her place and heal Cares and pains and griefs so gentle ‘Tis a mother's loving seal. A Friend. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Colleen wrote: >Evening Modesto News, The | Modesto, California | Thursday, February 11, >1904 | Page 1 >Death of Mrs. Ann McGinn >Mrs. Ann McGinn of LaGrange, widow of the late John McGinn died at her home >in that place on Tuesday evening, as a result of a hemorrhage of the >stomach.
