    1. [CASTANIS] Cemeteries on Scenic....
    2. Wendy Watson
    3. Hello List, Please excuse me if I have asked this before. I know I started it the day I got a call to get to the hospital that my sister had "coded".... I am almost afraid to write again.... she passed later on that day, June 4th. I am trying to get back into genealogy and helping, plus finding some wonderful help for my English roots. Anyhow, yes, I live in Modesto and I am embarrassed to say that I don't know the names of the cemeteries on Scenic or which one is which. Even though I had the paper work (binders and binders) here for a long time trying to transcribe them and just couldn't find the time. I did transcribe Woodcolony though and see it is online now. My sister's (who just passed) husband is trying to find his parents and brother. All he knows is that he thinks they are on the side closest to Scenic Drive in. He is in his 80's and says "it won't be long", he is lost without my sister. I'd like to be able to take him to visit his parents and brother's grave. We are down to one car right now and I wasn't sure if the offices were open on the weekends. Does someone have the books for this one and if so, can you look up Robert Pellascio died: April 28, 1957 Thesera Unknown Pellascio died: January 12, 1974 Brother - Angelo Roy Pellascio died: April 04, 1997 (I think I remember hearing he was cremated) Thanks for your help! 1. [CASTANIS] Re: [CADI] New Message Boards http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=main&r=rw
    2. Colleen and Listeners; I haven't borthered with the Stanislaus Board itself since it still does not recognize my password. My password should still be the same, in any event I attempted to re-submit. The message I get is this is not a valid email address. If anyone wants a DCT from me for Stanislaus County, Ca I have to see it on CADI or CASTANIS lists. I don't like these changes, I fail to see how they are for the better as your stating Colleen . Cathleen Stanislaus DCT's Volunteer In a message dated 7/14/01 4:50:01 PM Pacific Daylight T ime, norby@ainet.com writes: I'm very frustrated and I wondered if anyone else is.....I used to love to visit the various county query boards and offer help from CADI prior to CADI going on line; I also loved to offer my services for dcts on the Stanislaus board.....well, I personally hate the new message boards as they have been reconfigured; first, you have to logon and remembering another password and user name is a pain; I have a lousy phone line and I can't connect very fast (14400) and trying to post to the Stanislaus or San Joaquin board is very time consuming and unfriendly because I have to have pictures turned off to speed things up; another thing that is unfriendly is that your email address is disguised (and I understand the reason for that - so they can't be collected enmass with new sophisticated software) - if you post a response to the board to help someone, they can't respond to you directly unless you put your address in the text of your message; I'm afraid that many people asking for help are going to go unhelped, especially on the "unknown" county board which I administer - I'm not against change, I just think that those of us that administered the boards in the past should have had some input in how to change them for the better, not to protect a commercial setup like MyFamily.com - I guess I will be posting a standard message to the board telling them where they can find the CADI mailing list and how to ask for help with CA deaths - it's going to be much too frustrating to have them replying to the board and having to go on line to see their response each time......urrrrr just needed to vent - anyone else still using the boards as we were before for posting dcts or obits so they could be gatewayed to the county mailing lists......
