ARTHURYN HILLIKER Gradeside services for Arthuryn Christine Hilliker, 93, of Modesto, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Wood Colony Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. today at the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Hilliker died Friday at home after a long illness. Born in Minnesota, she had lived in Modesto since 1922. She belonged to the Wood Colony Grange and county, state and national Grange affiliates, serving as chaplain at Wood Colony for 20 years. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Survivors include a son and daughter, Kenneth Hilliker and Harriet Gilmore, both of Modesto; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Rice of Turlock Succumbs in Modesto Hospital Frederick William Rice, 65, a resident of Turlock for the last eleven years, died Thursday in a Modesto hospital as a result of being struck down by an automobile Sunday night while walking along the Golden State Highway near Ceres. Conald Olds, also of Turlock, was the driver of the car involved. Officers are investigating the accident. Rice was a native of Illinois. He leaves the following relatives; Two sons, Lloyd Walter Rice, Turlock and Orbie O. Rice, Fort Townsend, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Ada Hardy, and a brother, Frank Rice, both of Iowa. Searching for any descendants of George L. DAVIS b.GA died in Modesto 1964. His daughter Nadine Pearl DAVIS married Kenneth V. HILLIKER and they both died in 1993 in Modesto. Nadine is buried in Lone Oak Cem., Sayre, OK. Another daughter was Ruby Davis Orteg d. 1998, buried Buffalo Cem. Sweetwater, OK. Other children include: Grady A. DAVIS and Oscar Taylor DAVIS.
