AIROZO--Services are pending at Allen Mortuary for Christina L. Airozo, 88, of Turlock, who died this morning at her home. Among her survivors is her husband, Abel Airozo of Turlock. Turlock Journal, Page A12 Tues., 17 July 1990 CHRISTINA L. AIROZO-- Private services were held at Allen Mortuary for Christina Lea Airozo, 61, of Turlock who died Monday morning at her home. Inurnment followed. A native of Missouri, she moved to Tulare in 1935 and to Turlock in 1980. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Abel F. Airozo of Turlock, a daughter Janet Creech of Texas; two sons, John of Ceres and David of Turlock; and a brother, Gene Frieze of Marysville. NOTE: Her age was typed as it appeared in the two articles. Abel and Mildred Airozo are listed in the telephone directory living in Modesto.

(My Mother has an old handwritten note that reads, "May Head born 1890 in Byron, CA." However, I contacted Contra Costa County and they do NOT have any record of her birth.) Recently, I found an obit of Fanny Louise Stone (1859-1925) which stated that she was survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. A. Noland (obviously, this was May Noland). [I believe that Fannie's parents were George William Donaldson Fannie T. McDonough.] Although a census record said that Fanny Stone bore 6 children, only 1 was living, May Head. (Fannie's marriage to Thomas Stone was her 2nd marriage; I cannot find any record of her 1st marriage to a Mr. Head, if there ever was one. May was born before Fannie married Stone.) I now believe that May (Head) Noland and William Noland were divorced around 1927 in Oakdale, CA, that she continued to go by May Noland to at least the 1930 census, continued living in Stanislaus County, CA, got remarried to an unknown man, and probably died in the 1936-38 time frame. My mother remembers meeting the man in 1941 in either Riverbank or Oakdale, CA, but cannot recall his name. He remarried after May died. This have been VERY FRUSTRATING for me to find May's birth or death record, and thus, I haven't been able to find who May's father was!

May went by MAY NOLAND from the time of her marriage in Sonora, CA, 1907, until sometime after 1930, when she got remarried to an unknown man, so I do not know her name at time of death and cannot request a death record. May's mother was FANNIE LOUISE DONALDSON, who later married Thomas J. Stone. Although I found info on Fannie's parents and Fannie's death in 1925 in Oakland, CA, I have been unable to find any record of Fannie's marriage, if there was one, to a Mr. Stone, so far. I am still VERY MUCH interested in obtaining any info on May's birth father. Perhaps her death record would help.
