Thanks for reply on this. That confirms what I thought about Arthur being a grandson of Julius Laughlin. The obit for Julius is on site here already but I would appreciate getting an obit for Arthur Guy Laughlin and for his father Guy Laughlin and just the bio for Guy. From elsewhere I have Johanna Holm as Guy Laughlin Sr wife instead of Maria Steele but perhaps that is an error? I am mainly interested in this family through Arthur Guy Laughlin's marriage to Daisy Lauretta Turner dgtr of Horace Joseph Turner b 1859 Ontario, Canada d June 27, 1929 Stanislaus Co and Jennet (Nettie) Burns (Callander) Turner d January 09, 1957 who immigrated from Manitoba, Canada to CA abt 1902. This is my major research interest so could you please look in the Tinkham's History to see if there is a bio for Horace Turner? Besides Daisy who married Arthur Guy Laughlin they had following children: Mabel Turner m Charles L. Swanson (d November 13, 1960); Lilly Myrtle Turner (d November 08, 1988 Modoc Co) m unknown McCartor (possibly Clifford McCartor d 04/09/1967 Modoc Co); William Fletcher Turner m Maybelle Angeline Olson (d Nov 07, 1961 Stanislaus); Horace Carman Turner m Goldie Olson (d unknown bef 1993); Edwin Clarence Turner b 1894 d bef 1910 (appears to have died abt 16 bef 1910 census alive in 1901.) I have left a separate posting looking for obits for those shown above with death dates (with exception of Horace Joseph Turner obit which I already have) so if you happen to have access to any of these that would be appreciated. Thanks again for your quick reply. Gerry gejtownsend at telus.net Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: OAKDALEHISTORY Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.california.counties.stanislaus/619.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: It appears that Arthur Guy Laughlin is the grandson of Julius Caesar Laughlin. Julius and second spouse, Martha Dallas had ten children: Evelyn (Crow), Charles, GUY, Annie (Fisk), Fred, Earl V., Roy, Ella and Neva. GUY and spouse, Maria Steele had six children: Raymond, ARTHUR, Doris, Marie, Edwin and Howard. I am presuming that Arthur is the Arthur Guy you are looking for. A look at an obit will confirm this. My index of obits (through 1970) shows that obits are available for Julius, Martha and Guy. I will have to check elsewhere for Athur who you say died in 1974. I no longer have access to the microfilms at the Oakdale Museum so I will visit the local library or the Oakdale Leader office to obtain copies if you want them. Biographies are also available for Julius and Guy in Tinkham's 1920 History of Stanislaus County. Let me know if you want copies. I hope this will help your research. Have a good day.
