Hello all, We are looking for help with our researches, and wonder if SKS could help in any way. Our researches into our Playle family show that Florence Mary Sheppard married William John Playle in 1898. Florence was born 11 August 1879 at Royden Hamlet, Essex, the daughter of John James and Alice Amelia Sheppard (formerly Cass). They married 8 October 1876 at Great Parndon, Essex. We have a copy of the marriage certificate for John and Alice. There are no details for Alice's father, and we understand that means that either Alice did not give them (sounds rather odd, church wedding, her new husband had just given the corresponding details for his father...)or that she did not know them. We've looked at IGI and this revealled an Alice Cass, the daughter of Jane Cass who was christened on 23 October 1860 at Stansted Abbots, Hertfordshire. If nothing else, the ages fit.
