I am looking for any information as to the ancestry of Peter CASPER, b. 1727 in Hamburg, Germany, d. abt 1817 in Boston, Culpeper County, Virginia, buried May 18, 1817 in Culpeper, Virginia, m. 1762 Mary HUCKLEBERRY, b. 1729 Germany, d. 1818 Boston, Culpeper, Virginia and buried in Culpeper, Culpeper, Virginia. The only info I have on Peter's ancestors are that his father was William CASPER, b. 1705 in Germany, William's father was Johannes CASPER, b. abt. 1658 in Germany, and Johannes's father was also Johannes CASPER, b. abt. 1632 in Germany. I have nothing on the ancestry of Peter's wife Mary. Also, I have seen sources that reported Peter and Mary as being in New York, although my family information has them living and dying in Culpeper County. Their son William CASPER, b. July 30, 1784, Boston, Culpeper, Virginia, headed west with the Mormons, marrying Avarilla DURBIN (b. November 26, 1789, Washington, Pennsyvania, d. September 04, 1862, Lafayette, Missouri) on March 04, 1809 in Knox, Ohio, and dying in Nauvoo, Illinois on August 04, 1846. Peter and Mary also had four daughters. Mary Polly CASPER married Benjamin THRAILKILL. Her three sisters, Ann, Catherine and Elizabeth CASPER, married Augustine SMITH, Joel SMITH, and Hedgeman or Hegeman SMITH, all sons of Joel SMITH and Mary TAYLOR, of Culpeper Virginia. Many of Ann's descendants appear to have remained (for a time, at least, in the Culpeper vicinity. Catherine and Joel went to Kentucky, and their son to Missouri. Any info on the above, particularly the ancestry of Peter and Mary, would be greatly appreciated, and I'm happy to share what info I have. I am posting this on Lists fo Germanna, Culpeper and Casper; please forgive the duplication.
