Hi Shelley As Laura is a relatively common name, please could you give us some more information about where you live and where you found the photograph. I know I have a couple of Laura Caspers but both in the early 20th century so unlikely to be mine. My great grandfather (Ernst Max Reinhold Casper) was born in Berlin in 1870 and came to London in 1888 but I don't know anything about his siblings. Hello cousins, I am in North Carolina and stuck on my search. I have traced my ancestor Thomas Casper back to Bertie County, NC in 1790 with wife Edith. She was daughter of Henry Barnes (d 1813), and granddaughter of John Barnes (d 1778 Bertie Co. NC). I have worked on connecting Thomas Casper to the Rowan County Caspers, but not able to connect. He may have come from Virginia. Hi all, I have never tied these two groups of Casper's together. I come from the North Carolina branch with Peter and Ann Mary. The father was Conrath. I have often run across the William Wallace Casper line, as he is LDS and there seems to be much written and preserved about him and lineage. My question: Is there any connection between the two lines? AND, big question #2 My double great Grandma named Sarah Evelander Casper (maiden name) 1870-1893, had a child named William Everett Casper, my great grandfather. She apparently wed an Edward Casper, after she was with child. Family stories indicate that the father may have been Logan Richards. I would welcome information on either man. I believe that you will find the Peter "K" Casper is the North Carolina branch of Casper's. Kathy: There may be some confusion as to which Peter Casper you are referring to. Apparently there is a Peter Casper (married a Mary Huckleberry) who lived in Culpepper, VA and there is a second Peter Casper who lived in North Carolina (unsure of his spouse). Antonio Casper left family in Germany and came to AMerica. In Ohio he is divorced by American wife and had three children. He must have changed name because we can not find him after that. We have the divorce papers. Samuel is one of his sons our direct link. One brother went by the name of Professor Anderson and did slight of hand tricks. There was a third. We beleive them all to be born in OHIO. Rhine on the NEKAR area for Germanic home. Suspect born 1800's early left family in Germany came Ohio when found here. Is married and has three children then divorced, by 1853 I think papers say. Anyone with a Casper of this background. His family in Germany he was not divorced from and daughter wrote to say do not bother coming home. But we can not locate her in Germany or Antonio in America after this event.
