I've "rescued" an old photograph of Wilfred W. LEGGETT which was taken at the Pougall Studio in Santa Rosa, California. The photograph was likely taken sometime in the 1880's with Wilfred noted as age 9 months old at the time. In addition to his name and age someone has also written the date 7 May 1902 and the note "was 11 years old 16th of April 1902" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research and thanks to the assistance of a LEGGETT Family Researcher I believe that this is a photograph of William Wilfred LEGGETT b. 16 April 1891 in California to parents Albert E. LEGGETT and Althea Louise BALLOU. William Wilfred and his wife Genevieve had a son William Wilfred LEGGETT b. 27 June 1924 in CA. In 1900 the family was living in Santa Rosa, CA with census records providing the following information: A. E. LEGGETT, age 39, born May 1861, married 12 years, born IA, parents born OH/IN, a Farmer Althea LEGGETT, wife, age 32, born Mar 1868, married 12 years, 1 child/1 living, born CA, parents born NY/PA Wilfred LEGGETT, son, age 8, born Apr 1891, born CA, in School In 1910 the family remained in Santa Rosa, CA with census records providing the following information: Albert E. LEGGETT, age 49, married 21 years, born IA, parents born OH/IN, a Farmer Alphra L. LEGGETT, wife, age 41, married 21 years, 2 children/2 living, born CA, parents born NY/CT Wilfred W. LEGGETT, son, age 18, born CA Elsie R. LEGGETT, dau, age 7, born CA Still in Santa Rosa, CA in 1920 the family was recorded in the census as follows: Albert LEGGETT, age 58, born IA, parents born OH/IN, a Farmer Althea LEGGETT, wife, age 52, born CA, parents born NY/PA Wilfred LEGGETT, son, age 28, born CA Elsie LEGGETT, dau, age 17, born CA I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family.
