Of interest to Sonoma County (and other) researchers is the posting of OCR searchable copies of the Sonoma (City of) newspaper, the Index-Tribune from 1891 on. The Index to the articles has a free search, and will give a snippet of the info contained so that one can decide to pay for the download. Download fees vary, depending on the length of subscription. There are many mentions of Bay Area and not just Sonoma Valley people over the years. You may find your Great Aunt Imelda spent summers at Boyes Springs, for instance.
