I don't live in CA, so I don't have access to the courthouse for death records, nor the library for obituaries, hopefully some kind soul who is local will respond to your request. I, however, did locate Romintha in the 1920 and 1930 census where she was consistent with the birthplace information for her parents: father born Ohio, mother born Illinois. Good luck to you.
