George Scott and Roy Scott were two of their sons. Roy Scott married Ottis Reese in Missouri, and he died in Colorado a few months later from pneumonia. Helen Pearl was their only child and my mother. George Scott later married Ottis and they went to California, where they worked at the school in Graton, Pacific Christian Academy. Ottis was the main push in getting the school started because she wanted Helen Pearl to have a Christian education. Later they worked in the Northwest where George's fishing boat caught fire. Instead of buying another one, they used the money to go to Africa as missionaries. HP went with them. She later married the widower John Dow Merritt who had four children, and they had four more. I am the youngest. While at Graton, the Scotts kept other children in their home who were Japanese. I don't know if they were orphans, or if they were just boarding them in their house so that they could get an education that was Christian. These photos are somehow connected to those kids.
