The Scott's came from Calif. before arriving in Washington state. Is there any thing else you can share about the Scott's you know of? Was there a name of the possible "Boarding House"? What was their only childs name? Do you know of a Sarah Jane Scott, born about 1833, (born in a different state). Sarah married a Robert Irwin the year that Calif. became a state of the Union. And after some time in Sonoma county (started their family) went north for better health. Robert and one of the boys were sick and the Doctor said it might help them get better to change climates. Along their way, from Calif. to Washington state they stopped to vistit an Uncle John. So somewhere between Sonoma Co. and Spokane, WA there was a John Scott or John Irwin, I think it may be a John Scott. Some Scott's are in Asotin County and Latah Co., WA, but have not found many. As to the Matsumoto and other family, maybe the Fort Wright establishment on Ft. Wright Drive in Spokane Washington has some clues too. Matsumoto seems like a name from California to me. Hope this helps some. Good Luck and Thank You for your time. Christina in Spokane, WA
