Here is a possibility...they may have married in NV. I had several relatives who lived in the Santa Rosa area but, married & divorced in Reno! Just so I have things straight...your parents d.o.b. & d.o.d. Ken 1912-1966 Lois 1927-1970??? If so...were you rather young when they both passed?
