I never got to know him. He died 2 years before I was born. I think my Dad was very very sad to lose his brother and he decided he would live out exactly 2 halves of their lives--my Dad committed suicide when he was 50 years old. Maybe he thought his brother only got to live as long as 25, so he would double that (for the two them) and then leave to be fair to Gary.
