The quickest/best approach would be to order the image of his application for his Social Security Number (SSN). Information in an obituary, if found, would depend on what information the writers knew. Information on a death certificate would depend on what information the Informant knew. The County Recorder for Sonoma County does have records in the name of David Thomas Jones, David Thomas and Carla D Jones, David T and Florence O Jones; but, there is not enough information to identify if the name provided was the correct one.
