Unfortunately, I don't know if there is a connection with Theodore. So far I haven't discovered anyone linked to Peter C. Jensen with that information. It's almost as if Peter C. Jensen and his family fell off the earth after 1910. I believe Peter died around 1930, but I don't know where. There's a lot of time between 1900 and 1930. I don't know if the family left California or remained there, somehow under the radar. I can't find them in the 1910,20 or 30 censuses. In the 1900 census, Peter was a farm labourer and rented his house, so it's possible the family just moved on. You'd think they'd show up in a census search though. I am looking for information, particularly death information, on Peter C. Jensen, born January 1859, Denmark, who lived with his family in Santa Rosa in 1900. He appears in the 1900 census and then I can not locate Peter or any of his family members after that. His wife was Anna, b. 1859, sons John C, b.1883; Charles, 1889; Marty, 1891 and Henry born in California in 1895. I've tried locating them in the 1910 and later censuses to no avail. HI folks, For those who can't find a ancestor, try lookng in the mortality schedules! These preceded the taking of the regular Census..an interesting site for you, with explanations is this: <http://www.mortalityschedules.com/> its 4 pages of information and by States links. These schedules may be the only the only record of death, as many States weren't required to record deaths, and gravestones maybe non existent. ~ Linda ~ Willow Creek,CA. As I have a Merritt side who settled in Petaluma, I just thought I'd check to see if there's a connection. John Merritt came here with his father Charles Merritt, and his wife Sarah Elizabeth Wilfley, and his mother, Jemima Lehman, by wagon in the 1850s. Charles and wife settled in Analy Township (now called Sebastopol) and John and his wife settled in Petaluma in a house that's still there at the corner of Stony Point Road and Pepper Road. John and Sarah had John Thomas Merritt (my great great grandfather, whom my mother knew), Edwin B Merritt & Ida Jane Merritt, born in 1856, 1862, and 1869 approximately. The original John (my great great great grandfather) had at least one sibling who came also. John T Merritt settled in Petaluma, traded livestock to San Francisco (by boat down the Petaluma River) and lived until the late 1930s. His children were George Merritt, Lyle Merritt (whom I remember - principal! of Petaluma Intermediate School, I believe), Ruby Merritt, and my great grandmother Ethel Merritt.
