Author: RBestrom7380 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.california.counties.sonoma/6153.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Bad link, correct link: http://www.sonoma-county.org/recorder/searching.asp BUT, their online records only start from 1964. They have records on microfilm from 1835 and in handwritten volumes (the BIG books). There may not have been a death certificate issued in that year. I found a number of family trees, to include your's, which identifies your knowledge about him. As you probably have tried, his full/correct name might more likely be found in NC or TN. Author: judyartley53 Surnames: Jack Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.california.counties.sonoma/6155.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, The Somoma County Library, http://sonomalibrary.org/ref/faq-obit.html will look up obituaries. Because of when she died, you might need to contact the California State Library, library.ca.gov/calhist/genealogy.html . They don't have resources to look up obituaries, however, will send you a list of researchers who will. You might want to contact the Sonoma County Genealogical Society, scgs.org/scgs.html to find out what sources they have. I did find the following: In 1860 Rebecca and family were living in Montague, Texas. Andrew jack, b. Eenbow, Scotland, 42, farmer. Rebecca, wife, b. KY, 60. Isaac Howard, b. MO, 16, farmer. Lucinda Hackler, b. TN, 16. On 31 Aug 1865 Andrew and Rebecca were living in Eudora, Douglas, Kansas with the james Whalen family. Andrew Jack, b. Scotland, 46, farmer Rebecca, b. KY, 65.
