I am distantly related to Frederick Charles HEITZ (born 1889 in Iowa), through his wife, Hazel Gertrude LONG. They lived in Healdsburg. Frederick's parents were Louis HEITZ and Ollie DAVIS. I believe that John Louis HEITZ was also their son. My research on this family is minimal as the relationship is so distant. I discovered this relationship while researching the LONG family and searching for the Long Ranch family cemetery outside Geyserville. This resulted in a book on the cemeteries of Sonoma County and saddled me with an undeserved reputation as an expert. It's a LONG sad story.

After his death Ruby moved back to Healdsburg. I have been a Heitz for 56 years. Any Heitz in Healdsburg is related.
