    3. Oops, this time I'll write a message before I send...duh. I am not related to this family, I just needed something to do tonight besides watch television. I found some tidbits that I'm pretty sure belong to this family, but they don't totally agree with the posting. Having the correct death date for Hannah will help someone find her obit. CA death index: LANG, Hannah, age 83, Sonoma County 5/28/1911, record 15251 (b~1828) , Joseph age 57 Napa County 12/23/1922 record 52404 (b.~1865) , John 81 Sonoma County 2/22/1930 record 11929 (b.~1849) LANG, T. A. 60 Sonoma County 1/20/1930 record 6324 (b.~1870) In 1880 Hannah and her youngest children are still in Nodaway Co., MO In 1920 Joseph is living in the Veterans Home in Napa Co., CA I have other data to share, please contact me directly so I can send you a word document attachment - if you are interested, of course. 3. Thank you. In 1905-06 Agostino Penna and his family settled in Sonoma County in the hills above Guerneville, near the Cinnabar mine. After the Earthquake, which destroyed part of the mine, Agostino moved his family to the west side of Santa Rosa where building was occurring. In the 1910 Census, Giovanni Penna is shown living in "Redwood Township" which fits the area where the old Cinnabar mine was. I believe Giovanni to be the brother of Agostino, (he had a brother by that name who went back to Italy.) Now I can estimate the year of Giovanni's birth. Does anyone have any more history of the Cinnabar mine? There is a snippet in the slim volume "Images of America -- The Russian River", by Simone Wilson, Arcadia Press, 2001. 3. The Sonoma county township map that is in the Early Schools Attendance Records of Sonoma County, California reference shows the boundaries of Redwood township with very little description. It looks as though it encompasses Guerneville, and looking at my Rand McNally, possibly Forestville and the southern part of what is currently the Austin Creek N.R.A. Hopefully someone else will respond who has a more local perspective. -----Original Message----- From: rwalker [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, March 28, 2006 10:30 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [CASonoma] Redwood township Where was the location of Redwood Township in Sonoma County in the 1910 era?
