So far I have been unable to confirm it though. One problem is that the first child is born in 1886. My John Francis was married to Matilda Williamson from Aug 1880 to March 1888 (divorce). A second child in 1889 is logical though. An obituary on Kate O'Brien d. 25 Sept 1926 may show surviving information. Mike

Oops, my bad. I did this record in the index, helps if I was looking for Napa county. OBRIEN, John F. 81 Napa Co. 12/19/1937 record 79560. This gives me a guess at date of birth -1856. I will see what I can find. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mike O'Brien Sent: Monday, November 06, 2006 5:25 PM To: CASONOMA-L Subject: [CASONOMA] O'Brien family Don't know if anyone can help, but I am searching backward on this one. I would look in the census prior to 1930 for them living together, and then look for her by name in the 1905+ death records to get a death date before looking for an obituary for her. I did check the 1937 records for your John Francis, but with no obvious matches. Can you give me a date of birth for him and his daughter and her name? I will see what I can find for you. Ah, the plot thickens. No name for the daughter or wife. John Francis was born in 1856 in SF and died at Napa State Hospital 19 Dec 1937 at age 81. He was there from 1932 until his death. I know his daughter put him there as my father found him there in 1936 and tried to get him out. He told my brother at the time that his half sister put him there. My father did not get along with that side of the family. My father is from John Francis's first marriage. The daughter is from a second marriage after 1888.
