Born in St. Louis, Mo., he had been a resident of Vallejo since 1945. He attended various schools in Missouri; entered the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933; enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, and served during World War II. He then went to work as a storekeeper in the supply de- partment at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in 1944 and retired in 1972. Mr. Johnson was a member of the American Association of Re- tired Persons. He is survived by his wife, Catherine L. of Vallejo; six nieces; a nephew, and four first cousins. Private services were held and inurnment was private. Colonial Chapels made ar- rangements."
