Following is a transcript of an obituary from the Vallejo Evening Chronicle, dated Apr. 24, 1912: "DEATH CALLS AGED WOMAN Mrs. Mary Walsh Passes Away at the Age of Eighty-six Mrs. Mary Walsh, for fifty years a resident of this city and vicinity, passed away at the home of James Maquire at 613 Ohio street shortly before 6 o'clock last night. Her death was peaceful, coming as quietly as does the sleep of a child. Such a death was a fit reward for "Granny Walsh" as she was affectionately termed by not only a large number of relatives, but by a host of friends. In her long life of eighty-six years, she was ever a devout Christian, ever kindly to her neighbors and ever mindful of those less fortunate than herself. The funeral will be held to- morrow morning following a mass at St. Vincent's Church. Mrs. Walsh was a native of County Wexford, Ireland. She came to this city at the age of 36 and resided here most of the time since. Her death was directly due to accident which happened several weeks ago when she fell and broke her hip."
