Laurence Walsh, b. Ireland, 44, farmer. Mary, wife, b. Ireland, 46. John, b. MA, 14. Mary Rice, b. Ireland, 15. M. T. Rice, fem, b. NJ, 13. John Rice, b. NJ, 10. Kate Rice, b. NJ, 9. Anna Rice, b. NJ, 7. Susan Rice, b. NJ, 2. After the 1870 and before the 1880 Census Laurence probably died. I didn't find him in any other Censuses. I'd look for a volunteer to find Laurence's death date at Random Acts Genealogical Kindness. Go to raogk.org, read guidelines, choose California, choose Solano Co and choose John. In 1880 Mary, JOhn and Susan were living in Vallejo. Mary Walsh, b. Ireland, 51. John F. Walsh, b. MA, 24, stepson, blacksmith. Susan Rice, b. NJ, 12, niece. In 1900 Mary was living with the Maguire family in Vallejo. James G. Maguire, b. CA Aug 1858, marr 12 yrs, landlord. Susan A. Maguire, b. NJ Oct 1868. Maria I. Maguire, b. CA April 1889. John Maguire, b. CA Aug 1890. Teresa Maguire, b. CA Jan 1893. Mary Walsh, malaw, b. Ireland Feb 1826, widow, no children. In 1910 Mary was living with the Maguire family in Vallejo. James Maguire, b. CA, 51, widow, inn ________, 51. Marie Maguire, b. CA, 21, single. John Maguire, b. CA, 19, single, delivery clerk butcher. Teresa Maguire, b. CA, 17. Mary Walsh, widow, b. Ireland, 84, immigrated 1850, no children. Mary died after the 1910 but before the 1920 Census. I'd use RAOGK to help find her death date. In 1920 the Maguire family were living in Vallejo. James G. Maguire, b. CA, 61, widower, no occupation. John L., b. CA, 29, single, no occ. Theresa S., b. CA, 26, single, no occ. James F. Nelson, lodger. Have you tried Googling Starr Ranch and the year or span of years they owned it? If that doesn't help, contact the Solano County Genealogical Society, rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cascgsi/leftside.htm . They do research. Successful Searching! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
