Sue Edison Woodrow Sohn: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Reporter, The (Vacaville, CA) - December 13, 2007 Deceased Name: Edison Woodrow Sohn Sept. 5, 1917 - Dec. 8, 2007 A funeral for Edison Woodrow Sohn, 90, of Vacaville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville. Retired Pastor, Richard A. Grammes, LCMS, will officiate. Burial will be in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home. Ed was born in Laredo, Texas, on Sept. 5, 1917, and passed away on Dec. 8, 2007. He served in the United States Navy for several years before retiring from Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas. He also was a barber in Texas and California. He and his wife, Romela, moved to Napa in 1971, then to Leisure Town in 1984. Edison belonged to the Bethany Lutheran Church, Vacaville Senior Center, Vacaville Grange, Leisure Town Theater Guild, the Organ Club and member of NARFE. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Romela; a sister, Mae Leonard; brothers, Charles, Fred and a twin brother, Ted. He is survived by his extended family, Romela's daughter, Carol and her children, Jenine (Monty) Fortney and Scott (Sally) Ohlhausen and their children, Brett and Chad Fortney and Shawn and Shalyn Ohlhausen; also Romela's nephew, Jeff Bess; and numerous nieces and nephews in Texas. His family and friends were very dear to him.
