Apparently in good health, he was stricken while driving home from a shopping tour. Deputy Coroner D. W. McCune reported Shubin was dead before he lost control of his car and ran off the road on the approach to his home. The body was shipped by the McCune Funeral Home to San Francisco where funeral services were held Tuesday followed by interment in that city. Shubin was a native of Russia and had resided in the United States since 1912. He resided in the Elmira district for the past ?_3 years. [text was hidden in the crease of the obituary book.] Surviving him are his widow, Mr. Mary Shubin of Elmira; two sons, Steve and Mike, Jr., both of Elmira and two daughters, Mrs. J. Bagdanoff and Mrs. L. C. Unknown; the spouse initials were found on the California Death Index Shubin, James, age 46, died 2/11/1928 in San Mateo County, CA (41); Spouse: ME The interment record shows Timofay (James) died in Elmira Township, Solano County. He is buried at Olivet Memorial Park, Colma CA (see below for record) I found a Jim Shubin married to Mary, living in Elmira for the 1920 census; children were John, Dorothy, and Nick 2.
