I receive an average of one obit request a month. Since most of the requests come by email, I usually do not know where they originate. The ones which do provide a location are usually from out-of- area. I do not charge a fee for obit lookups. Donations (not requested or required) are welcome. 2. JUDY DEGENNARO
    3. A fellow researcher found my ancestors, Lucius H. and Clara O. Frazell in the Vacavile 1860 census.  Can anyone help me, or send me in the right direction on how I can learn more on when, where, etc. that they were here?  I live in Vacaville and never knew I had ancestors who lived here way back then.  The family  was originally from Ohio and Illinois. Thanks for any help.   A Message for you from JUDY!

In Vallejo, December 12th, 1876, Lawrence Walsh, a native of the County of Waxford, Ireland, aged 51 years. The funeral will take place from his late residence in the Benicia road, at two o'clock tomorrow (14th inst )." Following is a transcript of an obituary from the Vallejo Evening Chronicle, dated Apr. 24, 1912: "DEATH CALLS AGED WOMAN Mrs. Mary Walsh Passes Away at the Age of Eighty-six Mrs. Mary Walsh, for fifty years a resident of this city and vicinity, passed away at the home of James Maquire at 613 Ohio street shortly before 6 o'clock last night. Her death was peaceful, coming as quietly as does the sleep of a child. Such a death was a fit reward for "Granny Walsh" as she was affectionately termed by not only a large number of relatives, but by a host of friends. In her long life of eighty-six years, she was ever a devout Christian, ever kindly to her neighbors and ever mindful of those less fortunate than herself. The funeral will be held to- morrow morning following a mass at St. Vincent's Church. Mrs. Walsh was a native of County Wexford, Ireland. She came to this city at the age of 36 and resided here most of the time since. Her death was directly due to accident which happened several weeks ago when she fell and broke her hip." Following is a transcript of an obituary from the Vallejo Evening Chronicle, dated Apr. 25, 1912: "ESCORT REMAINS TO THE GRAVE REMAINS OF MRS. WALSH INTER- RED FOLLOWING SERVICES AT ST. VINCENTS. Escorted to the grave by a number of sorrowing friends, the body of Mrs. Mary Walsh, one of Vallejo's oldest residents, was interred this morning in St. Vincent's cemetery. The funeral took place from the home of James Maguire, 615 Ohio street, thence to St. Vincent's church, where a requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Netterville. The follow- ing relatives of the deceased served as pall bearers: Richard Ward, Jas. Ward, John Ward, Philip Ward, Ray- mond McKenzie and George H. Mc- Kenzie." I need to order their marriage license to see if there's another spelling for Henry. Louise was born Louisa Matthaeus in Germany and I believe came to America with her sister Frederika who married Henry FRIED in Solano County. All three were living in Yreka, Siskiyou County in 1860. (Henry Fried & family ended up in Healdsburg, Sonoma County and I have lots of information on that family). I suspect Henry Leshike (or whoever he is) came from Germany, also. I'm mainly interested in Louisa and to learn if there were children and descendants. Thanks for your interest. I'm pretty sure Olympic Elementary School was constructed strictly for the Chabot Terrace housing project. The school mimicked the surrounding houses. (Think army barracks.) The largest of these housing projects was Chabot Terrace which peaked out in population around 1944 - the year of my birth. My family arrived there circa 1949 well after the war's end. These temporary houses were in one word - awful! But they did serve their intended purposes. Barry Ashby Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
