Nancy - thanks for taking over the list. My particular Casner/Carsner line follows: Jonas Casner married Nancy Wright in 1801 in VA. They had six children. By 1818 they had made their way to MO after going through TN & KY. Some of the children died in MO. All but one remained permanently in the MO/AR area. Henry Casner, son to Jonas, married Jincy Jane Fields in 1822 in Ray Co. MO. They floated between MO and IA; Henry died in 1847 in IA leaving Jincy to raise 12 sons and one daughter. Several of the sons were always in trouble with the law, the army, and the indians. They were ran out of Marion Co., IA (and a couple of other counties as well). Two sons, Jonas and John, marry in IA. In 1852 Jincy & all but one of the children take the trail to Oregon. John's wife dies on the way to OR. Jonas, the one who stayed behind, went to OR in 1862 and dies there in 1864. Trying to shorten the story, the daughter marries into my Fields line in OR; several of the sons marry and are very prolific. Many of the sons go to CA and strike it rich. There is a split in the family in the mid to late 1860s; in 1875 Jincy and several of the sons migrate to AZ where Jincy dies in 1884. Those that go to AZ spell the name Casner; those that ramain in the Pacific NW spell it Carsner. I have collected much information on this particular Casner line thanks to the assistance of several wonderful descendants/researchers. Still trying to fill in a few gaps. Would love to see more chatter on this list. I started researching the line in an effort to locate the parents/siblings of Jincy Jane Fields (the mother of all those children); I connect to the line in four different places: (1) the widow of Jonas Casner/Carsner marries the husband of my great grandmother; after she dies; her second husband is hte one who marries my great grandmother. (2) the only daughter of the Casner couple marries the great uncle of my mother. (3) The second wife of Warren Casner (son of Jonas who dies in 1864) marries the brother to my great grandmother after Warren dies. (4) Jincy Jane Fields (mother of all those children) is possibly out of my Fields line (my mother was a Fields). If someone would like to know more about this very prolific roaming family, please contact me direct. > > Would every one mind please mind responding with an introductory email that tells us a little about yourself and your casner connection.
