Author: ccasner11 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.casner/80.3.2.1.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi: Our branch of the Casner family stems from John Kasner (he was buried under the Kasner name) and wife Susanna, 1779-1853. John was born about November 16, 1773 in Pennsylvania, although I'been unable to determine his origin. I suspect at some time he was in Bedford County, Pa, eventually settling in Washington Township, Coshocton County, Ohio where he farmed from about 1812 to early in the 1850s. He died June 3, 1857, in Whitley County, Indiana and was buried at Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery near South Whitley. I do not recall having researched any of the names you mentioned. For your information, one of John Kasner's grandsons, Frederick Casner and wife Hannah Barber, migrated to Story County, Iowa in the 1850s. Frederick's mother and John's daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Wolford Casner, relocated in the 1870s to be with her only remaining son Frederick. She died in Story County's poor home in 1889. Maybe some of this might help you eliminate some avenues of resear! ch. Charles Casner Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
