This is such a quiet list. I am still searching for descendants of my Jonas Casner who married Nancy Wright in 1801 in Washington Co., PA. They had six children. By 1818 they had migrated to Carroll Co., MO. Their children were: (1) John 'Jack' E. Casner - lived/died in MO (2) Henry Casner - married Jincy Jane Fields in 1822 in MO, had 1 daughter and 13 sons - have extensive information on his descendants - would like to fill in a few remaining gaps. (3) Judy Casner - died in 1818 in MO (4) Eben/Ebenezer Casner - lived/died in MO; is said to have had 5 children; would like to learn their names and what became of them (5) Charlotte Casner - married James Stone; lived/died in MO (6) William John S. Casner - lived in MO/AR; married and had several children; would like to learn more about his children. I would like to communicate with anyone who is a descendant of or is researching any of this line. The children of Henry Casner (#2 child above) traveled extensively throughout the west and left many descendants.
I'm assuming you have already done the following. If not, I would suggest you do the following; all will give you clues and information: (1) Look at the census soundex/microcode in NY for Casner on the 1910 and 1920 census; look for any Casner family (there aren't that many of them); then look at the children for his name and born in 1910 or there abouts; if you find them on the soundex/microcode, then locate them on the actual census - there you will find any siblings. (2) Obtain a copy of the death certificate from the state of Washington; see >http://vitalrec.com/wa.html< .. (3) Go to Helplist, Genie Angels, or RAGOK and see if you can locate a volunteer in the right county to obtain a copy of the obit for you. Obits, although not always accurate, more often than not provide many clues. Good luck. Benjamin CASNER (bd circa 1824) is one of twelve sons of Henry Casner and Jincy Fields Casner who floated between MO and IA from 1822 to 1847. Benjamin is in Jasper County, IA in 1844. I have found references to Benjamin Casner in other records in IA. Henry Casner dies in 1847 in IA. Jincy and her family migrate to OR in 1852. Here is my problem. I have found no record of Benjamin CASNER in OR (or other areas of the Pacific Northwest where the Casners/Carsners settled). I did find record of a Benjamin Casner who married Lucy WARE on 12-26-1845 in Harrison County, MO. I am endeavoring to determine if the Benjamin Casner who married in Harrison County, MO is the same that is in Jasper Co., IA. Any thoughts, suggestions, information appreciated. What became of Benjamin and Lucy? Where did they settle? Did they have children?

The following is the obituary appearing in the Corvallis (OR) Gazette Times on 1-6-1970, for Ida Carol Casner, wife of George Henry Casner. Can someone tell me who the parents of George Henry Casner might be? Were they out of KS or MO? "Ida Carol Casner, 82, Route 1, Monmouth, died Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital. The daughter of William and Ann Cash Dabbs, she was born 12-29-1887 at Thayer, MO. In 1916 she was married to George Henry Casner at Kansas City, KS. The couple made their home in Long Beach, California for 40 years. Casner died in 1955, and 1 1/2 years ago Mrs. Casner moved to Oregon to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Chapman of Monmouth. Besides her daughter, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Helen Haddock, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Casner's remains are being sent to San Pedro, California, for final rites by the DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home."
Hello List: The following is an obituary for James Casner, apparently from Elm Hall, MO. Would like to communicate with anyone who can place this James Casner into a particular Casner family in MO. At this time, I have been unable to connect him to my extensive Casner family that was in MO. AGED MAN DIES LAST THURSDAY James Casner of Elm Hall, Formerly of St. Louis, is Buried Saturday - Feb. 18, 1932 James Casner, well known St. Louis man who was a resident of this place for a number of years, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Carrick of Elm Hall, last Thursday evening. He suffered a stroke five years ago last June and since that time has been an invalid. His wife died just four months ago after an illness of just a few days. He leaves nine children: Mrs. Dwight Johnson, Mrs. Marion Foster, Mrs. Delbert Beckman, Mrs. Robert Carrick and Matt, Jesse, William, Chancy, and Harvey. He was 80 years, six months and 28 years of age. The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Carrick Saturday and burial was in the Shepherd cemetery. Rev. Spence of Vestaburg officiated.
There is record of Pierce P. Casner who died 10/11/1862, and was buried the same day in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. Could anyone advise me to which Casner line this person belongs.
Louise H. Casner born 10-19-1839 and died 8-5-1929 is buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Randolph County, MO. Does anyone know the name of her husband? Where is he buried? I would like to connect this person to a particular Casner family.
On the SSDI there are listed two brothers by the last name of Carsner. The maiden name of their mother is DALVAREZ. The brothers are: CARSNER, Frances J. (b.9-9-1912 OR d.2-1-1989 San Mateo, CA) CARSNER, Edmund Augustus (b.9-15-1913 CA d.8-19-1984 San Francisco, CA) Does anyone know who the parents are of these two individuals? Would like to tie them in with a particular Casner/Carsner line.
I came across a death record for Orville Latore CARSNER who was born 8-14-1904 IA and died 4-24-1958 in Ventura Co., CA. The maiden name of his mother was 'Hansen'. Does anyone know who the parents of Oriville Latore Carsner might have been? If so, would like to hear from you.
On the 1870 MO Census, Cape Girardeau County, Byrd township, Page 37 taken 8-3-1870 is the following family: CASNER, Frank (age 28 MO) Farmer CASNER, Anna B. (age 25 MO) CASNER, Henry (age 7/12 MO) Frank has real estate valued at 3000. Does anyone know who the parents of Frank might be?
On the 1870 MO Census, Cape Girardeau County, Byrd Township, Page 62 taken 8-10-1870 is the following person. CASNER, Mary (age 20 MO) working in the home of Thomas Dalton. Does anyone know who the parents of Mary Casner might be?
James 'Jim' Casner/Carsner (born12-1839) is a son of Henry Casner and Jincy/Jane Fields Casner. He married Clementine Hayworth on 5-19-1858 in Linn Co., OR and on 12-1-1883 married Sarah R. Olney in Grant Co., OR. He is found on the 1890 Veterans Census in Utamilla Co., OR. Most often his surname is spelled CARSNER rather than CASNER. I am trying to determine if he had children and if there are living descendants out there somewhere. Also would like to know when/where he died. Have extensive inforamtion on the families of his brothers that I am willing to share.
Eben Casner (b circa 1812 TN or KY) on 7-29-1828 in Ray Co., MO married Mary M. Woolsey. Eben and his family appear on the 1830 Ray Co., MO census. Circa 1844 Eben and Mary were divorced. Eben appears on the 1840 census Franklin Co, AR census and Mary appears on the 1840 Carroll Co., MO census. According to the divorcr petition, the children were grown. Willing to exchange information with persons who may be descendants of this line. Am interested in learning the names of their children and what became of them.
While researching my Casner family that was in AR, I came across a book titled 'Marriage Books A-B-C 1845-1871, Washington County, Fayetteville, Arkansas" compiled by Lois N. Miller. Listed in the book is the marriage of William H. Casner to Mary Ellen Vaughn on 11-22-1857 as recorded in Book B, #68. Can anyone connect this particular Casner to a specific family. If so, would like to hear from you.
Bruce: Thanks for posting response. We've communicated before briefly (and I have some of your line among all the 'unconnected' Casner lines that I track). I'm taking a different approach trying to locate the one person who might hold some clues to my 'unsolved mysteries'. Liz > >Where are the Casner/Carsner researchers/descendants.
