Have you looked for the Historical Society annual publications? The Society has existed since 1946 or thereabouts and had a publication each year, with each edition featuring different areas of the counties, etc. I have no connections with Hornbrook, Horse Creek or Oak Bar and don't live in that county either. You could check with the genealogy society in the county. They have a web site and it may have a link on the Siskiyou GENWEB site.
