I am from Holland and have an interest in WW 2 history. I do research about US servicemen who were killed in WW 2 and are/were buried in the US Military Cemetery in Holland (and Belgium), near where I live. I am searching for information about and in particular a picture from: Mos Jee, killed December 1st 1944. He was from Siskiyou County, CA, born 1924. Can you please help me? Perhaps there was a notice about his death in 1944-1945 in a local newspaper or in a yearbook. Other information will be appreciated. Have you looked for the Historical Society annual publications? The Society has existed since 1946 or thereabouts and had a publication each year, with each edition featuring different areas of the counties, etc. I have no connections with Hornbrook, Horse Creek or Oak Bar and don't live in that county either. You could check with the genealogy society in the county. They have a web site and it may have a link on the Siskiyou GENWEB site. You could learn much more about the town I'm sure. Be sure to call ahead for museum hours. You could also ask about using their reference material in their research room. I'm given to understand there is little or nothing left of the old town, however, and I was told that the former townsite may be on private property, so it would be best to find out for sure and get permission before having a look. Good luck, and if nothing else, you will see some spectacular country. I long to return to the area. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Father; Matthew, Mother; Mary Switzer) says on her marraige cert in 1918 that she wasnt married b4 but i found a marraige cert for her in 1905, she married an john albert netterfield in canada. she had 3 children with him, Marjorie,Norman & Menarva ( i have found them in the 1906 canadian census but nothing after that) Violet entered the usa in 1916 under violet netterfield, no sign of her husband john albert or the children. there is no sign of the children later in the usa. john albert died in 1930 is seattle, king, washington. and violet died in 1966 in seattle, king, washington. i just think that something happened especially as she says that she was never married in 1918 and there is no sign of the children from her first marraige. maria Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [CASISKIY] Looking for information
    2. Hi, I am looking for information about a Forks of Salmon Forest Service worker who lived and worked in that area during the 1940's by the name of Leo Pollard or Pollock since I was very young I cannot remember the last name for sure. He lived at Nordheimer Creek in a small cabin. Some people called him "Apple Head" as Leo had a roundish growth on the side of his head that was very visible because he was nearly bald. Leo passed away in about the early 1950's.....I have fond memories of him Seeking any information about him. Cheryl Beck
