Hello I am researching soldiers who were or are buried in the US military cemetery in Margraten. With other volunteers I am trying to find pictures from them. I am sorry but I do not have found a picture from Mos Jee yet. Looking forward to hearing from you, kind regards, Antoine ________________________________ From: Michelle Baca Reinke <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2019 5:08:41 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [CASISKIY] Re: WW2/Jee Hello Mr. Anthony Nounes, My name is, Michelle. I came across your post from a web search about, Mos Jee. This is my grandfather by adoption. Can you please tell me a little more about what you were searching for - do you have a photo of him? H,i Since the overhaul of all the rootsweb sites are there now things that are no longer available? When I click on Siskiyou Cemetery Central it says that "Forbidden, you don't have permission to access". I used this Siskiyou Cemetery Central all the time, but now I am very disappointed that I no longer can use. Do you have any clues about this ? Thank you Cheryl Beck
I understand that in 2015 there was a calendar produced with old time pictures from the Salmon River area. Does anyone have one of these calendars ? Or can anyone tell me where I might find one.? Thank you Cheryl Beck
I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the ROYAL Family of Oregon. The first is one of Cecil and Esther ROYAL which was taken at the Pickerill & Catterlin Studio in Salem, OR. Cecil appears to be about 4 years old and Esther about 1 year old. The photograph was likely taken in the 1880's with additional notes on the photograph indicating that they are "Mill ROYAL'S Children" and "Dr. DODSON'S niece and nephew". The second photograph is one of Ester (spelled differently than first photo) ROYAL which was taken at the Sperry Studio in Salem, OR when she was just an infant. Also noted on this photograph as "Mill Roys child". Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding the family: Cecil Lloyd ROYAL was b. 29 Sept 1885 in Polk Co., OR to parents Forester Wise ROYAL (b. Sept 1860 in Douglas Co. OR-d. 1934) and Ellen or Ella A. DODSON (b. Aug 1865 in Oregon-d. 1927). Cecil was one of 2 children born to this couple including a sister Ester or Esther M. ROYAL b. 1890 in Oregon. Cecil married first married Edna Josephine WHEELER (b. 1888-1890) on 21 Feb 1907 in Yamhill Co. OR and then he married a 2nd time to Jessie Gertrude RUBOTTOM (b. 25 Sept 1887 in California-d. 1957) on 22 Aug 1926. Cecil d. 2 Feb 1969 in McCloud, CA and is buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland, OR. Esther ROYAL married Lloyd Ellison COCHRAN (b. 10 Oct 1888 in Colfax, WA) on 25 April 1910 in Polk, OR and together they had at least one child. Census records provide the following: 1900 census of Douglas, OR: Ellen A. ROYAL, age 25, born Aug 1875, born OR, married 1884 at age 16, father born TN (believe the age and birthdate are off by 10 years here) Cecil ROYAL, son, age 15, born Sept 1885, born OR, father born OR Ester ROYAL, dau, age 10, born Mar 1890, born OR, father born OR 1910 census of Jackson, OR: Forester N. Does anybody on the list know how Shackleford Creek got its name? A friend that now lives in Ecuador called and asked me that question today. Could not find anything about it in the Siskiyou Pioneer books. Thanks Cheryl

I find a Dexter Elliott, age 48, born NY, living with Josiah T. Smith family in 1860 Siskiyou County census, in South Township. Am wondering if he might have some family connection with my elusive ancestor Josiah T. Smith (who left Siskiyou County in 1862). Hoping somebody can answer my question regarding schedules. I have a page from the Siskiyou County, CA Mortality schedules from it says 1850-1855. Were these schedules something that was done every year for each California County? Where might these schedules be housed at the county level or at the State Archives.? Thank you Cheryl Beck

I also have some certificates and other digital items. Ethel Butler was my great grandmother and she raised me so I have an especially strong connection to all of her family. I am in the Sacramento area and if you're nearby, I'd be willing to scan everything you want scanned, free of charge as long as it connects into one of my lines. I may even do it without a connection because I like to help people. :-). Contact me if you think we can help each other. I have several trees up, look through the one with INACCURACIES in the title. My private one is a duplicate of that one. :-) I'd really love to hear from you. :-) Chris Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
