It seems that Anthony WINANS <?b. 1835 in OH> was married to my Great Grand Aunt Adaline A. KIDDER b. 1832 of Jerusalem, Yates Co., NY. There were a few WINANS (WINANTS) in Yates Co., that moved to Ohio and then to Iowa. By 1852 Anthony was living in Jackson Co., IA and Anthony and Adaline were married on 12 Dec 1855 in Bellevue, Jackson Co., IA. They had two children (1) Charles A (probably Anthony), b. 1856 in IA and Mary E b. 1858 in IA. Apparently Anthony died between 1857 and 1860 in Jackson Co., IA because by 1860 Adaline and the children were living in Hazel Green, Grant Co., WI with James WINANS b. 1802 in NJ. By 1870 Adaline and Mary E. moved back to Bellevue, IA but her son Charles moved with James to Lincoln, Sierra Co., CA. There is also another J. and a C WINANS (I assume Jacob and Catherine) living with them. By 1880, Charles A. had moved to Lassen, Tehama Co., CA. I don't know exactly the r! elationship between Anthony and James and Jacob but I must assume there was one. I would venture that Anthony (Adaline's husband) is the son of Anthony and Margaret McKinley and Anthony (Margaret's husband) is the son of James - Jacob would be a brother.
