How's it going? I currently live in Downieville CA and have lived here for 15 years and know the area well. I'm sorry I don't know who the lady is your looking for but I can help you out with the location of the mine. The mine is located at the top of Slug Canyon just south of Downieville on the Galloway side. It is at the top of Slug Canyoy like I said, and is inbetween the top of the creek and the Ruby Mine.It is located on the back of of a hill on the right fork of the creek. It is very hard to explain how to get to or where it is. I would suggest looking it up under " Sierra County topographical Maps" It will show you right were it is.
