    3. How many years does this book cover?  The reason I ask is that I have the Isaac Davis family, the Trompetto family, Richard Rich and two or three of his brothers and sisters in that area in the years up to 1900, some of them past that.  Also, William Ryan who was the post master who married one of the Rich girls.  Will check out your website.  Patricia Morano ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, June 2, 2009 3:01:02 AM Subject: CASIERRA Digest, Vol 4, Issue 12 Today's Topics:   1. Author: rlhsd Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.california.counties.sierra/623.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Page 19 in the book "DOWNIEVILLE Gold Town on the Yuba" (volume 1 of the James J. Sinnott's History of Sierra County series of books) states that "T.M. Ramsdell" was elected county treasurer in the June 1852 election. He and the others elected were the first Sierra County office holders. His political party was Democrat. It is an out-of-print book. But you can find it in some libraries and for sale as used. I am slowly creating a complete surname index for that book and posting it a few pages at a time at the below URL. I am willing to do look-ups in the book. So you may want to check that page from time to time. I probably won't finish it until the end of this year. http://cagenweb.com/sierra/Ref_books/SinnottV1.html Hope that is helpful, Rick Hanson CAGenWeb County Coordinator for Sierra County (http://cagenweb.com/sierra/) [email protected] (checked daily) or [email protected] (checked weekly) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
