I have "The Roar of the Monitors" My line goes: Thomas Lewis b. 1830 in Pembrokeshire Wales md Sarah Jane Hussey b. 1830 and came to Sierra Co., CA Him in 1863 and her about 1872, their daughter Martha "Mattie" was born after he left for Californa. Thomas was a Methodist Minister, he and Sarah Jane had 4 children, James, Elizabeth, William and Martha. James md Lillie May Kelly, Elizabeth (my gr grandmother) md (1) Joshua Marvin b.1838 OH (my line) and (2)John William Reid, William md Mary Ann Stevens, and Martha "Mattie" md Linzy W. France. In Jan's book there is a picture of a boarding house. Elizabeth and her girls ran the boarding house and are pictured in this photo. Etta was my grandmother she md John James "Jack" Fitzgerald. My brother Mike Fitzgerald has the Museum in LaPorte open during the Summer months there is a lot of history there. The others I had listed I remembered from when I used to spend the summers up there on the old Lewis Ranch also known as the Marvin Ranch near Scales.
