Sharkey was originally a Barry - this is the name I am interested in and am wondering if you might have Mary's Barry relatives. Specifically, I am looking for a Richard Barry, born abt 1840 in New York and then was in this area (and Yuba County) abt 1870. There is also an Ann Barry who married a Lawrence Daly in 1859 in Sierra County. Do either of these names connect with your Mary? That was a big help and I'll get right on searching for a marriage certificate in Franklin Co, KS. I do have Martin Henry Miller (10/22/1873-11/6/1941) his death certificate. Born in Ottawa, Franklin Co, KS and died in Buckhorn, Amador Co., California although he lived in Sacramento, CA at the time of his death. If you remember the census records said in 1900 they lived in East Dallas, Wasco Co., Oregon. Well, their is a town named Dallas, OR but it's in Polk Co. East Dalles (notice slight spelling difference) is the actual town name in Wasco Co. Thanks again for your help. I would love any more information on either line if you have it. Thanks! NY prior to 1880, however, it is such a common name I couldn't be sure if the person I found was yours or not. In 1900 Martin and Minnie were living in East Dallas, Wasco Co., OR. They don't appear on any other Census or I couldn't find them. I looked through the Censuses hoping to find a parent living with them. Do you have a copy of Martin's obituary? If not, do you know his exact death date and place? I have more Census info on this family if you want/need it. I'd look for their marriage certificate in Franklin Co., KS. Maybe it will contain more info. You won't find 1890 info on the Quigley family because almost all of that Census was destroyed in a warehouse fire. In 1900 they were living in Butte, Sierra Co., CA. It's not too far, on the left side; thought there was a small sign on the gate. It's just a dirt road winding up to the cemetery. Also called the Westside cemetery. Feel free to contact me via email if you want more family information or photos of the cemetery. I'm really into this genealogy thing. Hope all is well, give my regards to Bill. Talked to your mom via email just yesterday. Bill and I were in Sierraville this past weekend and went looking for Sharkey cememtary. We found it about 20 years ago but we could not find 2 days ago. I'm sure we were on the right road, straight down from the Sattley cash store. Last time we were there found alot of the relatives, like Casey, O'keefe and Sharkey. We asked a business owner if they knew where the cememtary was and they never heard of it, she lived there 3 years and said she travels that road (can't remember the number of the road) all the time and has never seen a cememtary. Maybe you know where it is. Thanks Valerie and Bill Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
