    1. [CASIERRA] Vincent Caves
    2. Due to receiving responses from 3 people on my query for information on Vincent Caves, I've learned that he died in Reno, Nevada. His address was Truckee. In looking at the map, I'm not sure what county that's in but I believe it's Nevada Co. California. It seems to be on the border of Sierra and Nevada Co. Can someone please tell me if I'm correct. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Ross-Burke Company. Does anyone know where this is located and who might have records if they aren't in business any more? Any information as to where I should send and get more information, will be greatly a ppreciated. My mother did not have any idea where her older brother was, as he did not keep in contact with the family who lived in Montana. Again thanks for any ideas. Peggy in OH **************It's Tax Time! 1. [CASIERRA] Vincent Caves
    2. My mother's brother Vincent left Montana in the late 1920's. He died about the 3 of July 1942. We were told he had been buried in California. Don't know if they didn't know who to notify at the time, but the Phillips County News on July 30, 1942 said he died early in July in California, buried and remains were disinterred and brought to Malta for burial in the family plot. The funeral home in Malta did not have any information as to him being brought from California. I would like to know if someone could see if the funeral home there had any information. Or tell me the name of the funeral home and address so I could contact them. I would think there would have been some kind of record to have him removed and sent to Montana. Voting register is how I found where he had been at least in 1936 and 1938. I would appreciate any help in trying to find out more about him. He was listed as a minor, so I presume he was working in mines nearby. Peggy in OH **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms and advice on AOL Money & Finance. 3. Hi List, I could really use some help. I have tried the Downieville Public Library but they do not have any way of emailing them for newspaper items. I have checked RAOGK and there are no volunteers for Sierra County. I have subscriptions to 2 newspaper websites that cover all the USA. They still have a long way to go with getting newspapers available. They do not cover Sierra County yet. I am trying to get the obit and funeral notice for a husband and wife. If obit mentions where buried, then I do not need funeral announcement. Mabel may only have funeral announcement as she died after Fred and They did not have any children. I am looking for obits for: Mabel T. RICHARDSON, maiden name unknown. She died 4 March 1934 in Downieville. She was the wife of Fred O. RICHARDSON. Fred O. RICHARDSON. He died 16 August 1933 in Downieville. He was husband of Mabel. Last occupation I have was as a gold mine mining engineer. I do not need newspaper articles snail mailed to me. They can be scanned and sent as .jpg attachments or just typed up in an e-mail, whichever is easiest for you. I appreciate any help with this as I live across country. Sue [email protected]

It seems that Anthony WINANS <?b. 1835 in OH> was married to my Great Grand Aunt Adaline A. KIDDER b. 1832 of Jerusalem, Yates Co., NY. There were a few WINANS (WINANTS) in Yates Co., that moved to Ohio and then to Iowa. By 1852 Anthony was living in Jackson Co., IA and Anthony and Adaline were married on 12 Dec 1855 in Bellevue, Jackson Co., IA. They had two children (1) Charles A (probably Anthony), b. 1856 in IA and Mary E b. 1858 in IA. Apparently Anthony died between 1857 and 1860 in Jackson Co., IA because by 1860 Adaline and the children were living in Hazel Green, Grant Co., WI with James WINANS b. 1802 in NJ. By 1870 Adaline and Mary E. moved back to Bellevue, IA but her son Charles moved with James to Lincoln, Sierra Co., CA. There is also another J. and a C WINANS (I assume Jacob and Catherine) living with them. By 1880, Charles A. had moved to Lassen, Tehama Co., CA. I don't know exactly the r! elationship between Anthony and James and Jacob but I must assume there was one. I would venture that Anthony (Adaline's husband) is the son of Anthony and Margaret McKinley and Anthony (Margaret's husband) is the son of James - Jacob would be a brother. At this point I don't know what happened to Charles A but will continue my research. Marilynn Story [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. His wife, Rebecca Lowe, and son joined other family in the Austin, Nevada silver rush in 1863, and she was always listed a widow in Nevada thereafter.
