Hi I'm new to this list. I belong to several others where I have gotten good information and decided since I live in Shasta County that maybe I should sign up and try to help on this one. Unfortunately even though I have lived here for 20 years I am still pretty much a "newcomer." I wasn't in on the Cow Creek discussion but I do know where it is. I have to drive along it every time I make the drive from my home in Burney down the mountain to Redding, which is the commercial hub of Shasta County. I will go to our local library within the next couple days and see what I can find on Leighton. It doesn't sound familar to me and I can't find it on a map but that may not mean anything. I also know an older lady who is quite the historian for the area and I will contact her to see what she recalls. Give me a couple days and I'll let you know one way or another what I find.
