For those who don't see "Missing Links" from rootsweb: Imagine how many worked on Shasta Dam? VIRTUAL BOUQUETS. by Sheila Tate <wawebft@aol.com> Thanks to two wonderful RootsWeb sites, Random Acts of Kindness and Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild (ISTG), I have found my sister. In 1941, my folks were in Shasta, California. Dad was an ironworker, working on Shasta Dam. They had three babies, a boy aged 14 months and twin girls just 5 weeks old. One of the twins got sick. She was rushed to the hospital but did not survive. Naturally my folks were devastated. They never talked much about it and time went on and all that us siblings could remember was that we were told she was buried in Redding in a little casket with a white teddy bear. Thanks to David Anderson, who volunteers for lookups in Random Acts of Kindness for Shasta County, and is also a fellow ISTG staff member, I have found where and when Marilyn was buried, David is even sending a death certificate, obituary, and picture of the gravesite. Thanks to all the wonderful people who made this possible and a special thank you to David and the people in Redding, California, who went into their basement archives to look for the records. My brother, sister, and I will never forget your kindness. (copied by JD)
