Am trying to determine which persons named Zumwalt bought or sold land in Shasta County between 1850-1880. I need help finding the grantee-grantor index for deeds during that time. Does anyone know whether a volunteer is available to search the index at the County Recorder's office in Redding? Or whether this info is available online? I've run across a statement that in 1881, Israel Dollarhide's family "arrived in the Fall River Valley and settled on the old Zumwalt ranch, on the site of the present town of McArthur."
