Hello, I searched an obit database for your Gladys that died in 2000, but unfortunately, it wasn't listed. There was one for a Gladys Pettis who died in 2001 in Sonoma Co, CA, and her husband was Joseph A Pettis. But, no mention of a son named Joseph is given. Must be the wrong person. Also, I checked the CA birth index and found only this child listed for surname Pettis with mother's maiden name Blakeny(or other spellings).
