Anderson Helen Anderson died Nov. 10, 2004, in Fair Oaks. She was 92. A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. Monday at the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation, 1701 Russell Blvd. Born in Daly City June 19, 1912, the second of three children of Fred and Julianne Marie Andersen, she lived and worked in San Francisco and on the peninsula for more than 70 years. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Daly City, and attended the College of San Mateo and San Francisco State College, completing a master's degree in early childhood education. She was a career civil servant, working for federal, state and city governments throughout Northern California, including 25 years working for the health department in San Francisco. She viewed her professional work as an audiologist as a joyful service to the children of San Francisco, moving daily from school to school to ensure that the city's children were hearing well. In 1985, she moved to Davis to be close to her two grandchildren, living in Davis and Fair Oaks for most of the last 20 years. Her interests included collecting dolls and antiques, buying and selling homes, and volunteering in her community. Her family says she maintained friendships from her earliest childhood that lasted throughout her life, and in each of her social and work settings expanded the number of warm, ongoing connections that were such a personal joy for her. Notable among those were her memberships in three church communities: West Portal Lutheran Church in San Francisco, Hope Lutheran Church in Daly City and the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation in Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, George RW Anderson, who died in 1968. She is survived by her son, Robert Anderson, his wife Karen Anderson and their two children, Nicholas and Catherine, all of Fair Oaks. She is further survived by her sister, Selma Masch, of San Mateo. The family requests that contributions be sent to the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation, 1701 Russell Blvd. in Davis.
