He died Monday at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City after a long illness. A San Francisco native, he had lived in Redwood City for 35 years. He retired in 1975 after working as an inspector for Western Gear of Belmont. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a son, Edward of Santa Rosa; two daughters, Kathleen Ramirez of Hayward and Alexandria Nunes of San Pablo; a brother, Conrad of San Francisco; a sister, Margaret Mickelson of San Francisco; and eight grandchildren. Burial will be in Skylawn Memorial Park near Half Moon Bay. The family prefers that contributions be made to the Sequoia Hospital Hospice Program.
