Schilling III, 40, a free lance film producer and writer who grew up and was educated in the San Mateo area, died Sunday at his home in Westport, Conn., after a long illness. He was born in San Francisco, attended St. Matthew’s Catholic School, Serra High School, and the University of San Francisco. Until recently he was employed by Time/Life’s multimedia division. Survivors include his wife, Molly; a son, Colin; his parents, Marie and Richard Schilling of Hillsborough; and a brother, Robert Bruce Schilling of San Mateo. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday in New York. A memorial Mass will be held later at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic church in Westport. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Fable Funeral Home, Westport.
